Wayward Strand is a touching emotional narrative game woven together from many distinct threads. All of them play out simultaneously aboard an airborne hospital in 1970s Australia.
The game Wayward Strand you play as Casey Beaumaris, a teenage patient who visits at the medical facility for the very first time. For three days, you will look into the background of the ship, its lives of its inhabitants, and how they relate to their fellow passengers.
On board, she’ll be able go to the homes of the ship’s quirky and lovely residents. She’ll be able to pick who she wants to spend in the company of, as well as get acquainted with them. The staff can be shadowed as you look around. Or go on a tour of the vessel to learn about its dark past.
The hospital’s residents are an eclectic group with a wide range of personality types – many charming and others odder than others, everyone with their own personal goals, desires, and imaginations. They can do whatever they want without regard to any player’s character.
In the three days Casey spends on the ship as she is on board, her fellow passengers have their own lives to tell and stories that she could study. Every single character is able to act and move according to their own timetable. They exchange news, opinions, gossip as well as arguing, laughing, or just having a talk with Casey.
