This is it! The story is almost done here. The lives of Juniper and Chris will change forever here. Since Epilogue 1 was in June’s POV, I decided to do Epilogue 2 in Chris’s POV.

Epilogue Part 2

Years have passed since my marriage to Juniper Lee and life has been better for the two. Juniper is very thrilled with finally being with the man of her life, which is me. As for me, I am glad to finally be with the woman I fell for all those years ago.

Although I am glad to be with June, I am quite nervous about what my dad said before my wedding, about responsibilities and how difficult is it when I get kids of my own. Of course, it isn’t that difficult, right?

I decided to not concentrate on that right now and think on the case at hand for my work. Recently there has been a series of crimes including people being drowned, not even near oceans. Also, bullets and stabbings are used.

After some careful research, I found out who the culprit was…Yuoir.

I haven’t seen the water caster since the defeat of Cthulhu years ago. We presumed he was trapped in the portal that took in Cthulhu but he escaped somehow. This guy hated fire casters and I was upset when I learned that he was the reason Cthulhu escaped in the first place. I have since made it my top priority to bring Yuoir down, even if I have to cheat to do it.

Okay, I won’t burn him to death.

As I looked over possible places where my enemy could be, my fellow worker came in.

“Hey Chris! Your wife just called!” said the worker.

“Tell her to call back. I am on an important case.” I said, not looking back at first.

“She said it’s very urgent.”

I looked puzzled. What is it that is so important that June couldn’t wait. I decided to put the case I have on hold for a while and picked up the phone on my desk.

“Hello?” I responded.

“Chris, it’s beautiful.” June said.

I smiled. Beautiful was a nickname I gave my wife ever since I first fell for her.

“So what do you want, beautiful? I am very busy.”

“Well, I don’t know how to describe this…you see, remember when I told you I got sick alot and threw up in the toilet?” My wife started to explained.

I got to worry. My wife has been acting odd lately. Getting mood swings, eating a lot, getting sick. I couldn’t explain why. Though theres something familiar about it

“Yeah,” I responded.

“It happened again. Luckily, Dende and Jody were with me. Jody got concerned and she and Dende brought me to the hospital. After a few quick tests, I found out why it happened.”

“Why?”

I coulda sworn I could see her smiled. She said, “Chris…I’m going into labor.”

I almost dropped the phone at that.

How could I be so stupid? Junes been pregnant for months nowI guess I just lost track of time. Yuoir can wait, I need to get to her.

I run as fast as I can just barely getting to the elevator as the doors close. Waiting for me inside is none other than the man that got me into the FBI, Special Agent Frank Winter.

Whats your hurry, Chris? he asks seeing how nervous and anxious I look.

I smile as I tell him, June just went into labor!

Frank is a grizzled old man, the result of dozens of high profile cases and countless sleepless nights, but he smiled too. As the doors open he pushes me out telling me to hurry up. Hes right, I cant miss my kids being born.

My 1967 Mustang GT roars to life and the tires squeal as I throw her into third gear. It might not be the best thing in the world for her, but itll get me there faster. Frank waves as I fly through the exit exploding out onto the street. The clock is ticking as I careen around Walton Road and shoot down the ten mile straightaway. I hit 95 miles per hour as I skid to a stop outside the hospital. I nearly forget to close my car door as I bolt for the main entrance.

A nurse sees me and asks, Excuse me sir, can I help you?

Yeah, yeah Im looking for Juniper Fieldss room, I stumble through the answer.

Okay, shes in room 311, her contractions are getting shorter and shorter, she tells me.

I thank her and run for the stairs. The kids are about to start forcing their way out!

Third floor and I cant find her room. Suddenly a group of nurses and doctors appear in the hall carting June to a delivery room.

Wait stop! I call trying to get through a large crowd of people, Thats my wife!

One of the nurses stops and grabs me, pulling me towards a sanitary room, Put these on! she commands tossing a set of scrubs into my hands.

Now that Im scrubbed I can finally see June. She looks like shes ready to pop as I walk in and take her hand.

Hey beautiful, I say softly.

June looks up at me with weak, tear filled eyes. I cant imagine how much pain shes in, but Im here now and Im not going anywhere.

What took you so long? she asks jokingly squeezing my hand and nearly crushing it.

Super strength, you gotta love it.

I couldnt find a parking space, I tell her bringing a smile to her lips.

Her grip gets tighter bringing me to my knees as she screams. This is it, no more morning sickness, no more contractions, the kids are coming right this second! The nurses are on either side holding her down, doing their very best to keep her calm, the doctor is preparing to catch the twins, and Im looking into my dear wifes eyes telling her everythings gonna be okay. It will be I know it, but things will never be the same again.

Come on honey, keep pushing! the doctor yells over Junes screams.

June looks at him angrily, What the hell do you think Im doing!

We all laugh a little.

Thats it, I can see a head! the doctor yells happily.

My hearts racing as he pulls out the first of my two children. My son! I have a son! I cant believe it! But its not over yet, not by a long shot.

Alright, June, I say looking into her eyes, One down, one to go. Im trying to smile and lighten the mood, but June doesnt look so good.

She looks absolutely exhausted, but she still grips my hand tightly, almost to the point of breaking it.

I see the other head! the doctor announces, Youre almost there June, just keep pushing!

June screams again, she screams at the top of her lungs and the whole room is shaking as she does it. Suddenly her grip loosens up and she lies back closing her eyes as her breathing begins to calm down.

I quickly look over at the doctor to see my other kid. A beautiful raven haired girl. Looking back at June as the doctor whaps her on the butt to make sure shes breathing, we both burst out laughing as our daughter releases a window shattering shriek.

As the nurses bring our kids to us, Junes face lights up. Ive never seen her this happy before!

Hi guys, she says placing a kiss on each of their heads, Say hi daddy, she teases.

Welcome to the world, I say kneeling down to look into their eyes. Their eyes are the most perfect shade of hazel. I have a family of my own. I have kidsIm a father!

A nurse walks up holding a clip board, What are their names?

June and I look at one another and turn back to the nurse, The girl is Rose, I say, And the boy is Koujiro, June finishes.

We get skeptical looks from the nurse, but she smiles and writes them down anyway.

Why Rose, June asks me out of the blue.

Because shes as beautiful as a rose, I explain softly touching my daughters forehead. Why did you pick Koujiro?

June laughs a little, Because, Koujiro was the name of my ancestor and the very first Te Xuan Ze.

I just smile. What more can I do?

June is resting comfortably, which is a relief after everything shes been through. I still cant believe Im a father. I kiss June and then make my way down to the nursery to check on the twins. As I board the elevator a chill shoots down my spine, but I dont really notice it. I wish Id paid more attention to my instincts.

There they are, side by side. Rose is sucking her thumb while Kou is curled up in a ball. As I look at them the chill comes back. Hes here

I was wondering when youd show up, I say sarcastically.

The red haired man steps up beside me. The air around him is freezing and I can see his breath as he speaks.

Do you want to do this here or up on the roof?

Leave my kids out of this, I tell him as my blood begins to boil.

Roof it is then, he responds.

As we step out into the stairwell I look back at my kids. I swore I would always come back to June. That promise is even more important now than ever before. Ill be back soon guys.

Why did you kill all of those people? I ask as we make our way to the roof.

Honestly? Yuoir asks me, I dont know. It seemed like a good idea at the timeand when I found out you were investigating I just couldnt contain myself.

So you did it to draw me out, huh? I ask not all that surprised.

Why else? he laughs.

Long ago I swore I wouldnt kill this guy, but now Im wishing I had it in me to break his neck. I still have to bring him, he has to answer for his crimes. Besides, I dont want my kids to think of their daddy as a murderer.

We part and walk to the edges of the heliport. Just like old times, I think to myself. He smiles as his skin turns a frosty blue. I can see hes not going to hold back. This is the end.

Yuoir charges me as his hand frosts over. I see the light gleam off his icy fist as he swings again and again. Hes gotten sloppy. Killing opponents who dont stand a chance against you is one thing, but fighting someone who knows how to fight, much less a fire casterthats something else entirely.

I spin across his back and kick out his knee. He crumbles and turns looking at me with those frigid eyes of his. A few years ago they might have actually scared me, but not anymore. Hes pathetic. He cant win against me and he knows it. This is what you would call copicide. He wants me to kill him because hes too afraid to kill himself.

The water caster leaps to his feet and claps forming an ice sword, the same way hes done back when we were kids. Im not a kid any more, I dont let my emotions get the best of me. I cant.

He dashes at me thrusting the blade forward, but I catch him off guard holding my open hand directly in front of the tip. The blade melts away before it can even touch me. Yuoir stops and looks up into my eyes. Its over. He cant win and he knows it. This is all just a game to him.

I reach down and grab him by the collar lifting him into the air, I could fight you, I could break your nose and few of your ribs, but I wont. Youre not worth it!

I release my grip and he falls back. He looks hurt by my words, but I honestly dont care. Im tired of worrying about what his next move will be. I have here, I have him now, and Im going to put him away. The best thing he could do is just surrenderof course, he wont.

The water caster rises to his feet and glares at me, his eyes seething with hatred. Here it comes. The final showdown.

He runs at me and swings. I quickly step back as his fist passes in front of me. Quickly he leaps forward with a kick. I catch his leg and lift as I push him back. Yuoir tumbles to the ground and roars as he reaches up for me. I grab his arms and squeeze. No fire casting, no burns, no nothing, just me against him. He screams as I push back on his arms snapping them at the elbow. I didnt want to do this, but its obvious hes not coming in on his own. Yuoir crumbles to the ground cradling his broken arms while I walk over to the roof phone.

I need a stretcher up on the roof, I explain to the orderly on the other end.

Putting the phone back I sit down next Yuoir and roll him over. I want to say something deep, something witty, something that the hero would say, but I cant think of anything. I loosen my tie as I sit there with him.

Looks like you winagain, he suddenly says.

I look down at him, Yeah.

I called Frank and he sent some boys down to picked up Yuoir. I smiled as they took him away. Its finally over. The one who released Cthulhu has been taken to justice and I use a spell to make sure he will never use his water casting abilities again.

I head back down to the nursery to checked on my newborn children, making sure nothing has happened to them while I was away or that neither one of them were kidnapped just like Dende in his youth.

I was in luck: my children are still safe and sound. They must have a sixth sense or something before they turned to see me and giggled. They smiled at me and I smiled back.

Its okay, kids. Daddys here. I whispered softly. And I will never let anyone hurt you. I promised.

5 weeks later

Be careful, Chris. You almost dropped Koujiro. June giggled.

I smiled as I held onto my baby boy. June is holding onto Rose. We are walking among the beach 5 weeks after June and my kids were released. This is Rose and Koujiros first day at the beach and they enjoyed it so far.

Why not? Its only sand. I joked.

But you could get sand in their diapers. June said with a smirk.

Oh, I see. I looked on ahead at the ocean. Its so beautiful at this time of year.

Hey Chris, I turned to faced June who got a concern look on her face. What will happen when our kids grew up? One of these days, I will retire as the Te Xuan Ze to someone and I hoped it will be either Rose or Koujiro, and the fact that they both may inherited your fire casting powers. How will they face the dangers you and I faced in our youth?

I smiled and kissed my wife on the cheek. Whatever the case may be, wed be there to support them no matter what. Whatever dangers lie in the future, wed helped them face it together. Just as you and I faced our dangers, my love.

June smiled and she leans over. Being careful not to drop our kids, I kissed June fully on the lips. It was so beautiful. When were done, we turned and watch the ocean with Rose and Koujiro.

Yep, the future is going to be bright for all of us

Normal POV

And so, we will leave this tale for now. Juniper Lee and Chris Fields has fallen in love, defeated the evil Cthulhu and his armies, reunited a brother with his family, got married, and have two children, one may be destined to be the future Te Xuan Ze. Or maybe both.

Sometimes, it may be questioned what would happened should things turned out differently when June first met Chris in kindergarden.

That is how fate is. There are two paths, no one knows what either would lead. But either way, a hero will faced whatever is down either path like June and Chris did in both paths. And no matter what path is taken, all paths all lead to the same place.
